As an Intuitive Astrologer, what does your work entail?
AJ: As an Intuitive Astrologer — I consult my clients towards a path of self-discovery and healing by exploring their birth chart and current planetary energies which are known as transits.
What are some misconceptions of Tarot that you would like to address?
AJ: One of the biggest misconceptions is that Tarot is evil, or your adviser (reader) will tell you something bad, such as you’re going to die — which is not true. Most people are scared by the imagery on tarot cards without knowing the meanings/context. For example, the Death card doesn’t mean physical death — it means transition, the end of one situation, and a birth of a more aligned beginning. It’s a beautiful card to get in most readings.
Tarot and Astrology are guidance. The same type of guidance you would receive from any other spiritual adviser or pastor. The readers I know as well as myself always read for what is the guidance for your highest good based on your current energy. You always have your intuition and free will to execute the advice for what resonates best with you.
In the same way, you have people who take advantage or misadvise in other spiritual or religious practices, the same can be said for astrologers or tarot advisers. I always advise people that if someone solicits you to have a reading that is a red flag — most valid readers will never solicit you individually. They will make their services known or may promote what they do, but they will not barrage your email, text, or call for you to have a reading.
Even the bible speaks of false prophets — “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits.”
The key is the fruit they bear — I recommend anyone considering a reader to research them, ask for references or reviews. They should be able to provide it and give you more insight into their energy and their style of consultations.
What should we consider when seeking spiritual wellness?
AJ: Spiritual wellness is one component in a healthy balanced life. We should all strive towards a balance of emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. Our connection to our emotions, the desire to want to be fulfilled and execute in a meaningful manner in life is what makes us unique as humans — spiritual wellness is an avenue to this path.
By exploring self-awareness, reflection, and a connection to processing our emotions — we’re able to heal wounds and integrate those experiences as a catalyst to help others and play a better contributing role to our family, friends, and society.
To start — you should explore what type of spiritual practices resonate most with you. Is it a practice of meditation and mindfulness or is it through fellowship and praise in a sanctuary? There is no wrong answer — it’s about taking time to explore what makes you feel more connected, centered, and in a safe space to do self-reflection and allow inner work.
How has your author’s journey been?
AJ: It’s been amazing — my first book, I self-published and I learned so much. I am in the process of writing my second and there are many things I will do differently this time around — one, is being more vulnerable in my writing.
Please tell us about some of your books and where we can find them?
AJ: My first book #KICKASS: A CHICK’S Guide to Living a KICKASS Life is available on Amazon and my website MissAJWilliams.com. My second book will be released in 2023.
